Looking for the perfect pot to complete your cookware collection? Look no further than the Xtrema 2.5-quart Versa 100% ceramic sauce pot with a lid and high-gloss, scratch-proof finish. If you are not familiar with the benefits of ceramic cooking, Xtrema Pure Ceramic Cookware can help. Unlike sauce pots made of metal, ceramic pots give you the freedom to cook with nylon, silicone, and wooden utensils. Metallic cooking surfaces also leach chemicals and flavors into the food you prepare, making them potentially dangerous to your health. Every Xtrema Versa 2.5-quart ceramic sauce pot with a lid is made with natural materials that does't leach any lead, cadmium, or other toxic metals.  Furthermore, researchers have found that Teflon and non-stick coatings that contain harmful PTFE or PFOA chemicals can cause cancer.  By cooking your favorite recipes with our signature ceramic saucepot, you can feel better about the food you serve to your family.

Use and Care

Xtrema ceramic cookware is easy to use and even easier to clean. There are four main things to consider when using Xtrema Pure Ceramic Cookware:

  1. Heating - it's always best to start with a low temperature and gradually work up to medium heat. Because Xtrema conducts and retains heat really well, there is no need to use high heat on the stovetop. Rapid or extreme temperature variations can compromise the integrity of your cookware or even cause a thermal crack - so be careful not to put frozen foods or cold water into heated pans.
  2. Cooking - keep your pans lightly oiled and use nylon, silicone or wood utensils to prolong the life of your ceramic cookware. Metal utensils won't scratch the surface, but we prefer other non-reactive options. You will find Xtrema to be very versatile: use it in the oven, on the stovetop, in the microwave, on the barbecue. The possibilities are endless.
  3. Cleaning - even though Xtrema is dishwasher safe, we like to hand wash using a mild detergent with a non-metal scour pad or natural fiber scrub brush. For the tough bits, you can add a little baking soda to the pan. For gentle cleaning, use any type of silicone brush or scrubbing pad. Our ceramic surface is harder than metal so it can't be scratched - but best not to try.
  4. Storing - we like to stack our cookware using specially designed polyester Cookware Protectors. Or, display Xtrema proudly in your kitchen - our products are beautifully handcrafted, so show them off by leaving them out.

Just the Right Size

I have the 1-quart and 1.5-quart saucepans, along with 2 skillets. This 2.5-quart Versa Pot is perfect for soups and stews for the family. Can't wait to try casseroles and roasting with it as well. Love this ceramic cookware.

Will never go back to “standard issue” pots!

The 2 1/2 quart versus pot is perfect for making a large batch of winter comfort soup! It is the latest addition to my collection...I now ONLY cook with Xtrema. Beautiful to cook with, easy to clean. And the food tastes richer and more pure... no metallic taste or toxins. I will never go back to standard issue pots and pans!

Excellent!

Using this 2.5 quart stock/Versa pot daily for various kinds of certified organic pastured beef meat, organs, and marrow bones. I've found that using water, not oil, makes cooking evenly easier, with much less work to clean. By using enough water, processed at home through reverse osmosis (RO) with pre- and post- filters, to cover the meat will prevent oxidation of the meat and marrow fat, with the lid on. The Versa pot, with the filtered water, enables the truest essence of the beef to become evident. Delightful! Some of the marrow bone joints are so large that I've ordered the next larger Versa pot, 3.5 quart, to accommodate them. These special ceramic pots are so resistant to acids that I can add a little acid to help dissolve the minerals from the bones into the water. The acid also also helps to separate the meat from the bones. Some cooks use vinegar, traditionally, with one cook stating that the vinegar releases minerals from the bones sixteenfold. I prefer to first cook the bones without acid to prevent too much iron from the meat getting into the water. After removing most of the meat from the bones, a little acid added to subsequent cookings of the same bones will enhance mineral removal from the bones. For further info about meat and bones and organs, read The Carnivore Code, by Paul Saladino, M.D.
